“As I experience life and the universe, I encounter a full spectrum of feelings and emotions. Some authentic, some superficial, some clear, some vague, some have names, some don’t, and all around and in between. I have found that there are interwoven layers of that spectrum that visually correspond to experience and interpretation. It is in this space where the layers are entangled and overlapping that I like to explore. Just as words can have multiple meanings, visuals can contain multiple images as well. As a child, I remember looking up at the clouds and letting my imagination run free. The clouds would turn into people, places, animals, landscapes, objects, shapes and anything else my young mind could conjure up. This effortless space where freedom of imagination meets the physical world is where I like to be and it is what I am interested in expressing.” - Ian Gonzaga
